First of all, I am sorry for not posting more frequently, but I previously mentioned life is getting a bit complicated for me lately. However, if a have a free moment for me, I try to do what I love the most: stitching!
As I already said in my last post, I am taking part of a RR for CQI yahoo group. The first block I have received is gorgeous. It’s from Sherry Johnson and I must say that is a real masterpiece.
I have never had in my hands a crazy quilted block made by other person. So, when I opened the envelope and I saw it, I was surprised because it is so beautiful. Sherry made an incredible fan as a focal point in the block. I do not how she made it, but believe me, it is so well-done, and the color combinations as well is perfect! I enjoyed a lot working on this block. I decided to do some work on the upside-right corner. I included some silk ribbon embroidered roses, bullion roses and a little fan. I also did some seam treatments including japanese beads. Below, I show you the result. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Antes de nada, disculpad que haga entradas con tan poca frecuencia, pero como mecioné en previas entradas, mi vida se está complicando un poquito últimamente. No obstante, en cuanto tengo un momento me dedico a lo que más me entusiasma: Bordar!
Como ya dije en mi última entrada, estoy participando en un RR para el grupo yahoo CQI. El primer bloque que he recibido es precioso. Es de Sherry Johnson y tengo que decir que es una obra maestra. Nunca he tenido en mis manos un bloque crazy confeccionado por otra persona. Así que cuando abrí el sobre en el que venía y lo ví, me quedé alucinada de lo bonito que era. Sherry hizo un abanico increible como punto focal en el bloque. No sé cómo lo ha hecho, pero creedme, está muy bien hecho y la combinación de colores es perfecta! He disfrutado mucho bordando en este bloque. Decidí trabajar en la esquina superior derecha añadiendo algunas rosas bordadas en cinta de seda, rosas a nudo de lingote y un pequeño abanico. También hice algún tratamiento a las costuras empleando algunos abalorios japoneses finos. Arriba, podeis ver el resultado. Espero que os gusten las fotos.

Hola he llegado a tu blog a traves de un comentario que hiciste en otro. Muy bonitos los crazy, se ve que te gusta el bordado, conservas perfectamente el estilo original de esta técnica.
Yo he participado en un round robin, pero haciamos tiras, cada persona elegía un tema y el resto teníamos que seguir ese tema en nuestra tira. Espero colgar pronto fotos de los distintos resultados. Un saludo

Beautiful work on this block. I have not done much in the bullion works, let along doing it in SR. You have done a wonderful job on all the elements, Sherry will love it.

Each of your additions to the block is lovely. I like your red Bullion roses and the Whipped rose.
It is good to see eye candy but holding work done by others is even better for a clearer understanding of how stitches are made.
If you have not been in a RR using blocks, then you are in for a real treat.
